Established by Ben Greenslade in 2007, G3 Contracting was a mobile welding and maintenance business.
After 2 years building solid client relationships on site, G3 Contracting became G3 Engineering and the workshop facility in Nanango was opened. Since then G3 Engineering has grown into a one-stop-shop for design, fabrication and installation solutions.
Over the past 15 years the number of employees has grown from 1 to 40 and we have the ability to handle small to large engineering projects both on-site and in the workshop with the addition of our in-house design team. We pride ourselves on the quality of our plant and equipment and we look forward to continually advancing with technology to provide precise and efficient engineering solutions to the market.
G3 Contracting started as a mobile welding and maintenance business.
G3 Contracting became G3 Engineering.
A workshop facility was established in Nanango.
A new office & kitchen fit-out, after several years was nearing completion.
With office renovations completed, it was time to extend the workshop. Phase 2 added an additional 320m2 of shed space.
G3 Engineering sustained solid growth over the first 10 years.
G3 cemented itself as a full-service engineering company offering the services of design, 3D scanning, drafting, certification, fabrication, machining, installation & on-site maintenance.
G3 added an additional 200m2 of awning allowing for segregation of certain works and better flow of steel into the processing areas.
G3 is excited to add in-house line boring to the list of capabilities.
The addition of a CNC Press into the workshop allows for rapid turn-around of replacement parts and adds further value to G3. The Baykal pressbrake achieves about 80% of our pressing requirements.
G3 is excited to procure a 3D laser scanner for rapid and accurate prototyping. This is another value adding initiative by G3 to increase the accuracy in design, take the guess-work out of component suitability and reduce machine down time during installation.
High Definition Plasma Cutting up to 40mm is added to G3's processing capabilities, further improving turn-around times for fabrication.
The G3 facility expanded to include a second shed next door, which allows for separation of assembly processes and non-ferrous fabrication from ferrous metal work.
Total area under roof now sits at 1450m2.
Laydown yards have undergone improvements including concrete access aprons and all-weather hard-stands, custom steel and sheet racks and storage containers.
Total laydown area now sits at 2.6ac.
